Living in the midst of a culture that is completely consumed by preconceived ideas about women and wives [especially about the women and wives of Christian homes] can, at times, feel oppressive. We struggle to ignore the whispering monsters that lurk in the unattended corners of our minds. Some of us let thoughts of judgement and the belief that we are somehow superior rise to the surface and become actions or words the intention of which is to harm. Acceptance is still not obsolete, however. There is a Healer whose property is always to love and there are people whose motivation is Hope. If we as a society could have a revival of self-confidence and a better understanding of our worth as individuals, I truly believe that we could find a way to love each other without prejudice or discrimination. Defend each other’s honor and advocate for the respect you deserve. Never give up.
