To all the people telling us “we’ll grow out of it” or “we’ll understand it when we’re older” – please stop stifling a community of people whose passion for change has made the world a better place for the less fortunate of all colors, shapes, and abilities. We the (young) people of the United States are exactly that…people. Just like you, I vote and drink responsibly. Just like you, I work hard for my money and pay my bills on time. My tattoos ARE meaningful and when I get older, I will still be proud of the art I wear. I love Jesus and I like cigars and when I look back on my life, I only hope I can say that I have loved others and that they loved me in return. And that when I had to suffer reproach, I did so with grace “in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith & in purity” so that the light inside of me can shine through.
