Gray Smoke

“I am in repair…I’m not together, but I’m getting there.” – lyrics by John Mayer

Gray has been my hue lately. I covet the inner peace that once accompanied the days I spent by still waters. Right now, the stillness torments me. It feels like I’m trying to paint this vibrant picture with my life as the brush, but it always comes out a dull gray. I crave the passion that I have felt in the black and white seasons of my life. I am sick of waking up surrounded by smog, by gray smoke, by a monochromatic haze on all sides. A wise encourager suggested that I play a “God game” each day where I look for little nods from a colorful God. So I am looking for sunshine, for the bright spots in a seemingly dim world. “I am in repair…I’m not together, but I’m getting there.”
